Farah means joy, and in Sudan it is also the word for a wedding, where gold is given in small pieces meant to be kept. This is a disc of 18-karat gold, 15 mm across, hung from a bail set with diamonds. The disc is brushed gold, rayed out from a centre of malachite-green enamel.
